Moises Henriques

Moises Henriques is an all rounder from New South Wales, Australia. He is of Portuguese origin, born on the same island as footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
A natural athlete, Henriques excelled at cricket, football and rugby but chose cricket. Even in cricket he improved himself from being just a fast bowling all-rounder to batting in the top four for New South Wales.
Henriques fits into the template for a valuable T20 player as a middle order slogger, accurate medium pacer with variations and a sharp fielder.
He made his First class debut in 2006 as a highly promising 19 year old who had performed consistently as a part of the U-19 squad for three years by then. He got his best figures of 5-17 against Queensland in 2006 and a highest score of 161 not out against Tasmania in 2012 which came at a time when his team had lost early wickets and helped the team to draw the match.
His ODI debut came in 2009 and though he hasn’t been a regular, he is a part of the Australian Test squad touring India for the 4 match Test series in February 2013.
Moises caught attention in India with his exploits in the 2009 Champions League which NSW won. He has been a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians squads in the IPL but has not played too many games due to untimely injuries and the four overseas players rule.
His scintillating 70 in the Big Bash League Final against Perth Scorchers in 2012 won his team Sydney Sixers the title and him the Man of the Match award. He also chipped in with important contributions to the Sixers’s successful 2012 CLT20 campaign, the second time he has won it.
