Muttiah Muralitharan

He is the greatest wicket taker of all time in Tests with 800 wickets to his name but Muttiah Muralitharan has proved his worth in the shortest format of the game as well. He played 40 games and took 40 wickets for the Chennai Super Kings in his first three years in the IPL, including appearances in successful IPL and CLT20 finals in 2010.

He played 5 games for Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the 2011 edition but after a long season for Sri Lanka in his retirement year culminating in the 2011 World Cup final he could only manage 2 wickets in the edition.

Muralitharan currently plays for the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League, and has had a successful stint with them. He was the joint 4th highest wicket taker in the 2012-13 season of BBL, taking 11 wickets in 8 matches and was also the highest wicket taker for his team, with the best figures of 3/18 in a match against Adelaide Strikers.

RCB vs CSK, Chennai, 2012:
With a high score of 205 runs to defend, RCB took the field charged to win the match. In his first over, Murali took the wicket of Murali Vijay, and then went on to take the wickets of Raina ( 10th over) and Du Plessis (14th over). Though RCB lost the match, Murali walked away with his best figures of 3/21 for the 2012 IPL.
