A bad day at office for RC vs MI

The first six overs of the match - that's where the match against Mumbai Indians was lost.

Lasith Malinga's first ball wonder, uprooting Mayank Agarwal's stumps with a swinging yorker and then the discipline of Munaf Patel. Team Royal Challengers was pinned back to the wall from where even a fighting innings by Tilakratne Dilshan couldn't rescue. The Bangalore wicket is always considered a batting paradise. Anything below 180 on this track is considered an easy bait for the opposition chasing. 140, under these circumstances was too little.

AB and Dilshan, perhaps the most experienced batsmen in Team RC's ranks, tried their best to revive the fate after the fall of Virat Kohli. But too many dot balls in the Powerplay meant the pressure on the middle order kept increasing. AB, Dilshan and then Saurabh Tiwary did their best under the circumstances to put some meat, but it was too late too little eventually.

The second blow was more of a death knell. When an off colour Zaheer was shunted out of the game by a ferocious Davey Jacobs, and Vettori's spell was safely seen through, Dirk Nannes got injured. His maiden over in the match resulted in the only wicket that Team RC could effect tonight, but he was the bowler who looked in form and capable to take wickets. Against a low target, wickets at regular intervals was the only way to contain MI and take the match to the distance. Nannes' injury further aggravated Vettori's thought process. With Zaheer bleeding and Abhimanyu Mithun not exactly earning any respect from Ambati Rayudu or Sachin Tendulkar, the match was well over and gone for Team RC. The 110 runs partnership by Rayudu and Tendulkar made things easier for MI.

Team RC will take too many lessons from this defeat. Its still a long way to go and the road will get tougher. But when one sets on a journey, pitfalls are always accepted as part of the game. The stronger gets back on their feet quicker than others. That's where the Challengers are!

Dilshan is not a good player as you closely watch he always hit the ball strongly it will click once or twice not all times..........Dishan shouldn't be at playing 11 for RCB.........

i recommended a couple of visitors from abroad to go watch the match at the chinnaswamy stadium. without having any knowledge about cricket, they seemed to have a good time there! their only curiosity though was that how come the bangalore supporters were also cheering for the No. 10 from Mumbai! :)

The only thing we can miss is we don't have a one more match against MI or else we would have beaten them in their own back yard.. Lets meet them in Semi's and show them what we are !
