A blooming “Ray” for Team RC

It was a happy sundown for Team Royal Challengers as they reached the hotel after defeating the Knight Riders. Ray Jennings was a happy man and his words some five days ago “We’ll surprise oppositions, just you wait and see” were coming true. His new avatar was to be seen in the party to follow.
It was a high-fiving session all the way as RCB was ushered into a separate entrance to the hotel. On the way, a few RCB supporters managed high fives with Mohammed Kaif, Asad Pathan and a “Well done” with Dan Vettori.

A Signature party was scheduled before which was a fashion show where some designers from Bangladesh showcased their range of fashion wear. Sid Mallya busied himself greeting and hugging his heroes who’d conquered a prestigious destination – Kolkata. Dr Vijay Mallya came in team colours and enjoyed the show.
Ray went around greeting all the cricketers. One got the feeling that he’d got the measure of his players and from now on, things could only get better. After that ‘excitement’ was over, he decided to go the unconventional way and stuck some flowers in his head and ears! Everybody was alive with laughter and excitement.
About the cricketers – Mithun, Arvind, Mayank and manager Avinash, logistics officer Rajeshwar formed a smiley fivesome for photographs and five minutes of Bangalore-style pleasantries before heading off to socialize with various quarters of the evening. Dilshan, Charl Langeveldt and a security officer also exchanged South African-style congratulations and then shoved their way into the elite crowd. Nobody seemed interested in dinner.
After a while, the cricketers were ushered into a private hall where some more known personalities joined them. There were also some light hearted humours, mostly with KKR executives looking at Chris Gayle and teasing him for pulling up a good performance against his former team.
As the music got louder, Virat as usual was the first to start gyrating. His position in the batting order may be number 3, but he’s unquestionably the opening dancer. “It’s in his blood,” as someone quickly added. Finally, the team retired for the night.
Chris Gayle could not make it to the fashion show but strode in a magnificent black collarless Tee and light jeans to match the colour. He too took the cue from Virat and peddalled around the floor with some suave moves.
