AB de Villiers undergoes successful hand surgery
South Africa batsman and wicketkeeper AB de Villiers underwent a successful surgery on his injured hand on Friday and should be fit to face Australia next month, Cricket South Africa confirmed.
De Villiers experienced dicomfort in his left hand, that had a plate inserted two years ago during the IPL. More pain forced him to undergo another surgery.
"He will start light rehab on Monday and is on track to be ready for the upcoming tour against Australia," Saturday's statement said.
South Africa will play host to three Tests and as many T20Is against Australia, with the 1st five-day game starting on February 12 at Centurion.
