Abhimanyu Mithun called up to replace injured Umesh Yadav

Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Abhimanyu Mithun will replace Umesh Yadav in the Indian ODI squad for the remainder of the series against England after the latter injured his hand in the 3rd game at Mohali.

Umesh Yadav injured his hand fielding a shot from Jonathan Trott during England’s last over of batting resulting in Abhimanyu Mithun being called up for the remaining ODIs at Mumbai and Kolkata. Mithun will join his Karnataka and Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate Sreenath Aravind in the squad.

Since playing for RCB in the CLT20, Mithun has been busy playing domestic cricket. He was a part of the India Green team in the Challenger Trophy which shared the title with India Red after the final ended in a tie. He then starred in Karnataka’s ongoing campaign in the domestic T20 tournament, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, taking 5/37 against Kerala in a match to defend a total of just 29.

Seems he will be a good player. But he has to prove that, and only then will people accept him gratefully.
