AB's Titans reach SA T20 final
AB de Villiers's Titans beat the Warriors by 4 wickets in the semi-finals of South Africa's domestic T20 championship the Ram Slam T20 Tournament, in their match at East London on Wednesday.
Alfonso Thomas (5/24) and Morne Morkel (3/32) took wickets at regular intervals for the Titans after they won the toss and chose to bowl first, restricting the Warriors to 127/9. The Warriors captain and opener Davy Jacobs made 51 (43b, 2x4, 2x6), anchoring the innings as one of the only 4 Warriors batsmen who reached double figures.
Titans skipper Henry Davids saw his team past an early wobble in which they lost Heino Kuhn and Herschelle Gibbs within an over. AB de Villiers grafted hard for his 31 (36b, 1x4), adding 47 with Farhaan Behardien (41*, 26b, 1x4, 3x6) in an important partnership for the 4th wicket. Behardien saw them through another minor wobble in which they lost the wickets of AB, Albie Morkel and David Wiese in quick succession, helping them win with just one delivery to spare.
The Titans will now play the final against the Highveld Lions on April 7th at Johannesburg.
