All round Andrew helps Uva Next win
Andrew McDonald chipped in with an all round show to help his side Uva Next beat the Ruhuna Royals in the Sri Lankan Premier League on Monday night.
Uva seemed to be headed towards a below par total when McDonald walked in with the score at 109/4 in the 16th over. He immediately took on pacers Lakshitha Tharanga and Lasith Malinga to score 28* off 14b with five fours, lifting the team to a respectable 155/6.
Seekkuge Prasanna was Uva’s best bowler, taking 4/19 to restrict Ruhuna to 141/9 but McDonald made crucial contributions with the ball as well. He removed dangerous opener Daniel Harris (11) in the second over of his first spell and returned to remove Prasanna Jayawardene (10) in the 15th over, ending with figures of 2/16.
