Asia Cup: Zol fifty guides India U19s to win opener
Captain Vijay Zol's patient half-century helped India U19s register a 9-wicket win over Nepal U19s in their opening match of the ACC U19s Asia Cup in Dubai.
Nepal chose to bat after winning the toss but were bundled out for 136 in just 44.4 overs. Kuldeep Yadav impressived with a five-wicket haul (5/31), wreaking havoc in the middle order. Karan Kaila and Sarfaraz Khan bagged 2 wickets each. For Nepal, Bibhatsu Thapa top-scored with 47.
Chasing an easy target, India U19s started off strongly with openers Akhil Herwadkar (71) and Zol (61) , who added 133 runs for the 1st wicket. Herwadkar's was the only wicket to fall, after which Zol finished it off for his side in just 25.1 overs.
