A brilliant 85-ball century by Royal Challenger Eoin Morgan buoyed England to a facile four wicket victory against Australia in the first match of the ODI series. Morgan hit a nearly-flawless 103, with the century coming with the winning boundary from him. The victory puts England 1-0 ahead in the series against Australia.

Morgan’s innings assumes importance as it came at a time when England was tottering at 97/4 by the 20th over. Morgan first drafted a 95 runs partnership with Luke Wright and then 71 runs partnership with Bresnan to script England’s win.
While Morgan emerged as the hero for England, another Royal Challenger Cameron White could not inspire the Australian team on the day. He made only 10 runs in the Australian total of 267.
