Challengers Royal in West Indies & England

With India starting their Caribbean campaign in style under the aegis of a Suresh Raina and a young brigade, the cricketing action doesn't seem to end on a happier note for Royal Challengers Bangalore, as elsewhere, Tilakratne Dilshan, leading the Sri Lanka on a tough English tour scored a scintillating century.

Virat Kohli, the lone Royal Challenger in the India-West Indies T20 International tonight, was not at his best when he made only 14 in India's tally of 159. The top brass of Indian youth team, bereft of the seniors in the tour, had been conquered within 56 runs after India started to set up a total. Raina himself returned making only 2. But for a solid partnership of 71 between Badrinath and Rohit Sharma steadied the Indian ship. Eventually 159 proved too hot for the new look West Indies team to handle as Chris Gayle was left out of the squad. The Challenger, who enjoyed a huge success in the IPL, missed out playing for the Windies. The Indian bowlers, especially the spinners had a field day to restrict the Windies to 143.

Dilshan, on the other hand was on a sticky wicket leading Sri Lanka in England, especially after having lost the first Test under extraordinary circumstances. On the second day today in the second Test against England, Dilshan struck a fighting 127 not out in reply to England's mammoth 486 in the first innings. Lanka ended the day at 231/1 as Dilshan struck 12 boundaries and two 6's to take charge of the stock. The skipper's unbeaten knock have instilled confidence in the Lanka's team which will inspire a delightful fightback by the visitors against a strong English attack.

The life of the Challengers are going strong! Royally, at that!
