If form was the issue, Karnataka skipper and another Royal Challenger, Vinay Kumar wouldn't lag far behind. He started the domestic season with a bang, claiming 5 wickets in the very first match for Karnataka as the state side skittle Punjab out for a paltry 243. Vinay took 5/61 as his nippy deliveries caused major damage deep inside the Punjab batting order. Vinay was ably supported by Sreenath Aravind who scalped 4. However, Abhimanyu Mithun returned empty handed.

Royal Challenger Pankaj Singh, playing for Rajasthan, however came home bagful with 5/58 shunting out Goa for 216. Pankaj is also having a dream run this season, having already picked 6 wickets in the previous match against Hyderabad which Rajasthan won hands down. Wasim Jaffer had a sedate knock of 73 in his side Mumbai's score of 287/4 against Bengal at the end of day one.

Overall, it has been a happy hunting season for Royal Challengers all around in domestic cricket.
