Royal Challengers Bangalore CEO Brijesh Patel has indicated that the team may just shell out $600,000 (approx Rs 3 crore) to retain the services of Jacques Kallis, Ross Taylor, Cameron White for the Champions League T20 scheduled to be held in September, according to reports published.
The Times of India Bangalore edition reported quoting Brijesh Patel on Team RC’s stand on the above three players. For the Champions League, Kevin Pietersen and Eoin Morgan will not be available as they would be playing for England against Pakistan in the ODI series. The reports states that Jacques Kallis (home team Warriors, South Africa), Ross Taylor (home team Central Stags, New Zealand) and Cameron White (home team Victorian Bushrangers, Australia) will now be asked to decide who they wish to play for in the second edition of the tournament in South Africa from September 10-26.
The paper quotes Patel saying, “The idea is to have all three but then we have to see how it goes. We are hoping they all choose to play for us.” According to the rules of the tournament, whenever a player chooses to play for a different team, his home team has to be compensated to the tune of $200,000 per player.
