Dilshan fifty propels Sri Lanka to victory in 3rd T20I
Tillakaratne Dilshan’s unbeaten 80-ball 75 propelled Sri Lanka to a 6-wicket win over South Africa in the third and final T20I at Hambantota.
Going into the 3rd T20I with a 2-0 lead in the series, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first, putting up a total of 163 for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Faf du Plessis top-scored with 85, along with JP Duminy who remained unbeaten on 51.
In response, Sri Lanka got off to a blistering start with openers Tillakaratne Dilshan (74) and Mahela Jayawardene (33) putting up a 67-run first wicket stand in just inside 6 overs. Kusal Perera departed early (1), but Dinesh Chandimal (14) and Angelo Mathews (14) supported Dilshan with some quick runs, followed by Thisara Perera (25) who remained unbeaten till the end. Sri Lanka comfortably chased down the target in 18.1 overs.
