Dilshan ruled out of WI tri-series
Sri Lankan opener Tillakaratne Dilshan has been ruled out of the Celkon Mobile Cup tri-series in the West Indies, starting June 28th.
Dilshan sustained a calf injury during the 2nd semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy against India in Cardiff on Thursday. Dilshan who batted positively during the start of the innings had to leave the field after striking two consecutive boundaries. Inspite of taking pain killers Dilshan was unable to continue and hence he retired hurt in the next over.
According to the Sri Lankan team spokesperson Dilshan’s scans revealed that he suffered a second degree tear following which he has been advised four to six weeks of rest. Dilshan has been replaced by Upul Tharanga.
All rounder Thisara Perera has also been dropped from Sri Lanka’s 15 member squad, Ajantha Mendis has been called to fill in for Perera.
