Dilshan show continues in SLPL
Tillakaratne Dilshan produced his second half century in two days in Basnahira Cricket Dundee’s 8 wicket loss against Uva Next.
Dwayne Smith produced his second duck in two days when Dilshan won the toss and chose to bat first. He watched Jacob Oram (3/16) reduce his team to 37/3 before adding 70 runs for the fourth wicket with Jeevan Mendis (34).
Dilshan brought up his 50 off 40 balls during the partnership and was bowled by Umar Gul for 56 (48b, 4x5). Basnahira only managed to post 136/9 in their 20 overs as Dilhara Fernando tore through the middle and lower order, taking 5/17 in just 3 overs.
Dilshan’s Sri Lanka opening partner Upul Tharanga anchored Uva’s chase, hitting 65*. He was well supported by Dilshan Munaweera (21), Bhanuka Rajapaksa (19) and Shoaib Malik (31*) as Uva overhauled the Basnahira total in just 18.2 overs to seal a comfortable 8 wicket win.
