Dirk destroys Warriors
Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Dirk Nannes helped his team the Lions clinch a whopping 115 run win in their MiWAY T20 Challenge match against the Warriors at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
Lions first racked up 199/6 after being put in to bat first thanks to contributions from Gulam Bodi (90), Quinton de Kock (46) and Neil McKenzie (37).
Nannes immediately put the Warriors on the backfoot, bowling Jon-Jon Smuts in his first over and Ashwell Prince in his second over, leaving the Warriors at 11/2 after 3 overs.
They never recovered from the blow and were shot out for 84 in just 14.2 overs. Jean Symes took 3/5 in 1.3 overs, Chris Morris and Aaron Phangsio took two each while Dwaine Pretorius chipped in with one wicket while Dirk Nannes ended with 2/9 from his 3 overs with one maiden over.
The 115 run win handed the Lions a bonus point as they extended their stay on top of the points table at 33 points recording 7 wins, 2 losses and 1 no result in 10 matches.
