The incident occurred in the second over with the new ball with Dravid, batting on 111, when in an attempt to duck a bouncer from Shahadat, was hit near his ear, as he misjudged the height. Dravid retired hurt after the incident and was immediately taken to the Square Hospital in Dhaka where he was kept in the Intensive Care Unit as a precautionary measure.
But later on, it was suggested that the intensity of the injury might be quite severe and he might have actually broken his jaw. He may be flying back to India immediately.
