  Dravid, Vinay take Karnataka to the semifinals Vijay Hazare Trophy 2010
Rahul Dravid was in belligerent mood when he stroked a 65-ball 77 to script a 6 wicket win over Haryana with over 12 overs to spare in the first quarterfinal of the Vijay Hazare trophy at Baroda today. Speedster Vinay Kumar was also instrumental in Karnataka’s win, picking up 4/45 earlier. The win takes Karnataka into the semifinal to be played on February 27. Put into bat, Haryana was all at sea against Vinay and was tottering at 89/6 before being all out for 224. Vinay and Abhiamnyu Mithun combined well to polish off the Haryana top order. Raju Bhatkal’s slow medium pace also came handy as he picked up three wickets. While chasing, Robin Uthappa returned without scoring while Manish Pandey was out cheap at 30. But Rahul Dravid put up a solid partnership with opener G Satish in quick time to set up the platform for the big win. Satish scored a run-a-ball 70 while skipper Dravid was timing the ball sweet scoring 77 runs in 65 balls, laced with nine hits to the fence. The two scored a breathtaking pace – 119 runs in 96 balls to take Karnataka closer to the target. After the two left, Amit Verma and CM Gautam took Karnataka home without any further damage.
