The coolest RCB updates, served hot.

Hattrick of wins, an Orange Cap & the 2nd position

Hattrick of wins, an Orange Cap and second position in the points table.

Which one to celebrate first? What if all the three and more? Team Royal Challengers are just warming up at the right moment, notching up a hattrick of wins in the IPL, each with convincing styles. The team seems to have found a new confidence ever since Chris Gayle joined the forces. The batting looks sharper, the bowling looks probing and the fielding much better. Star campaigner Virat Kohli gets the Orange Cap for becoming the highest scorer of the IPL tonight was ecstatic after winning the Cap, the match and the Man of the Match award. "First time in four years that I'm getting the Orange Cap. It's a big honour for me," Kohli says as he and Gayle shares some joyous funny gestures of winning the match.

Team Royal Challengers is right now having fun. Its a happy image the team is carrying and portraying to the rest of its competitors. As Kohli said earlier, T20 is a game where one has to enjoy the game, Challengers have taken it literally. Its the high Happiness Quotient of the team which is bringing cohesion in the field and fierce competitiveness in its action on the field.

Batting has always been the strong point of this team, but for the second time in a row, the bowling department has come up with some telling performances. Zaheer, who has been having a torrid time in the first week, came back strongly in the second week and is now back with hurried conviction. Suddenly, the options in the slow bowlers have doubled with Gayle, Syed complementing Vettori. Moreover, Abhimanyu and Aravind with pumped up adrenalin are bowling with venom.

Pune Warriors confronted the Royal Challengers in such a time. On any other day, perhaps 181 couldn't be termed a winning total, but with a vociferous crowd support and the new found confidence in bowling, it proved to be beyond the capacity of the other home boys, Manish Pandey and Robin Uthappa to match the Warriors' expectations.

As Gayle said, "I am just waiting for the big celebration tonight," Royal Challengers is on a roll. It would be good to win more matches in a row. It would be good to have some more celebrations. It would be good to sustain the happy image of the Royal Challengers.
