ICC Rankings: Kohli regains No.1 ODI spot

India batsman Virat Kohli has surpassed South Africa's AB de Villiers to claim the coveted No.1 spot in the ICC ODI Rankings for batsmen, after his performance in the Asia Cup.

After his stellar century against Bangladesh, Kohli achieved career-best rating points of 886. However, low-key performances in the following matches resulted in the loss of five points. Though, Kohli is still ahead of the South African batsman by nine rating points.

The Delhi lad last held the No.1 Ranking before the ODI series against New Zealand earlier this year. 2 points behind AB, Virat racked up 1580 runs at a staggering average of 60.76 in the past one year. In 31 innings played, he scored six hundreds – four away from home and three as captain. De Villiers fell slightly behind, with 1156 runs in 25 innings and three centuries.
