The Royal Challengers were in for a pleasant surprise under the floodlit Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday, March 8, when one of the greatest cricketers of the game, Sir Garfield Sobers walked in to meet them. Accompaning him was two other greats of Indian cricket - Gundappa Viswanath and Dilip Doshi.

The name Sobers evinces respect even from the people who has the slightest knowledge on the game. So when the legend walked in, it was but natural for the RC players to greet him and show their respect to one of the greatest players the game has ever produced. There was Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid who spent quiet some time in the middle with the mercurial cricketer. Probably the players were also getting some tips on how to hit those towering sixes on a regular basis from the blaster that Sobers was during his days. Remember his six sixes in an over - the first cricketer to achieve the feat and a folklore amongst the cricket enthusiasts all over the over.

Dilip Doshi, the ex- Indian left arm spinner who is now a leading businessman and the original little master Viswanath spent more than an hour in the middle with the RC team at the stadium. What the three discussed in the middle is strictly confidential. Later, RC CEO and ex-Indian cricketer Brijesh Patel also joined the trio in the middle to spend some time with them. Interestingly, Doshi's son Nayan Doshi is also a professional cricketer and was seen practicing with the RC team.
