The total did not look as impressive later when Pakistan batted. Nasir Jamshed and Ahmed Shehzad gave Pakistan the aggressive start they needed. Umar Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez did one better, increasing the tempo in a period where teams consolidate to put India under serious pressure. Hafeez produced a beautiful stroke filled 55 off 26b, threatening to Pakistan over the line with ease.
Ashok Dinda and Ishant Sharma however contributed with tight overs at the death, taking the game away from Pakistan.
