India decimated! What can be the path to resurrection?
As the title of this report would suggest, that's exactly is the answer the Indian team is seeking right now in England. The arrival of Virendra Sehwag, the fitness certificates of Gautam Gambhir and Zaheer Khan and the stubborn will from the rest of the players, especially the batsmen - Indian team and the think tank is desperate in search of some inspiring act. The way the second Test ended, a huge loss for the number one Test side in the world, must have demoralised the team like there wasn't any yesterday and there wouldn't be any tomorrow either. If only the present could just be erased!

England showed character in their display over the last four days. The first 2 days belonged to India and it seemed that India would press hard for a victory on the third when it was a spirited counterattack by England that took the match away from India. Must mention here, there has been reports on prime time television on how MS Dhoni took refuge to upholding the spirit of the game by recalling Ian Bell back and how it cost India the match. To them, just one question, the Indian team fell far short of the target had Dhoni decided not to recall Bell. But by recalling Bell, he saved India from the ignominy of being a coward loser. Thanks to Dhoni, India retrieved some of the respect off the field, when it was a shameful display of cricket on the field.
The chase, from the start, was a meek one. The body language wasn't inspiring, the heads were closer to the grounds and the barrage of uppish deliveries by Tim Bresnan were taken as body blows rather than fended off with the bats. Perhaps the loss of Rahul Dravid, the only Indian batsmen to come close to being called a confident player under English conditions, early in the chase ran panic within the ranks. But consider this, the present Indian middle order didn't have the best time either during the West Indian tour. Dhoni and Coach Fletcher must find some antidote to this problem quickly and before the start of the third Test.
England will now play safe the remaining Tests to secure a 2-0 difference in the margin of the victory in the series which dismantle India from the top. But if the Indian middle order continues their poor form, it would be surprising to return with a 0-3 or a 0-4 margin from the island. That, to my mind, would be a catastrophe!
So, coming back to the title, can you suggest a path to resurrection for the Indian team?
