U-19 World Cup: India vs South Africa: 5th place play off final

India lost to South Africa in the U-19 World Cup to finish sixth in the championship which they won in the last edition. A listless performance by the batting top order, with the exception of Zahid Ali (98 off 107) and Harpreet Singh (56) forced India to post only 235 – a total which never challenged the South Africans. India was tottering at 66/5 at one stage before Zahid and Harpreet staged a 112 runs partnership which took the total to some respectability. South Africa reached the target scoring 237/4 with seven balls to spare.

Indian skipper Ashok Menaria was unable to fetch a wicket after having scored a duck while batting.

Brief Scores:

India: 235 in 50 overs (Zahid Ali 98, Harpreet Singh 56)
South Africa: 237/4 in 48.5 overs

South Africa wins the match
