Kallis' allround skills steer SA to series win over Pak

A clinical display of all round skills by Royal Challenger Jacques Kallis steered South Africa to a comprehensive 58 runs victory over Pakistan in the final one dayer to clinch the series 3-2. In the game that mattered, Kallis rose above all to swing the match in SA's favour first by hitting 83 off 95 balls and then came back with the ball picking three important wickets in 3 overs to shunt Pakistan out of the game.

Kallis' innings with the bat was nothing of a blast. In fact he only hit 4 boundaries during his stay of 95 balls, which tells how much briskly he rotated the strike and kept the scoreboard ticking for his 83 runs. With the ball, he was introduced in the attack when Pakistan openers Mohammad Hafeez and Shahzaib Hasan were strolling away merrily at 7 runs per over rate. But Kallis put to rest any dreams of a Pak uprising with three wickets in three overs - Hasan, Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf - in the 13th, 15th and 17th over. The strikes broke the backbone of the Pakistan chase from which even a daring partnership between Umer Akmal and Shahid Afridi and later by Abdul Razzaq failed to lift the team.

Kallis was ably assisted by another Royal Challenger Dale Steyn who picked up 2 wickets in the match.
