Kallis gets his maiden double
Jacques Kallis continued with his form to notch up his maiden couble century in 142 Tests which typified the South African domination over India in the first Test against India. Continuing from overnight 102, Kallis completed his double ton to lead the Proteas to a commanding position at 620/4 declared in their first innings. Kallis was accompanied by Amla's 140 and AB de Villiers' hard hitting 129 off 112 balls, thus exposing the weakness in Indian bowling attack once again.
Trailing by close to 500 runs, India had to have a good start in their endeavour to save the Test. Virender Sehwag (80) and Gautam Gambhir (63) provided one, but both returned to pavilion before Rahul Dravid (28 not out) and nightwatchman Ishant Sharma (7 not out) took India to 190/2 at stumps. India's reputation now remains in the hands of Dravid and the likes of Sachin Tendukar and VVS Laxman. However, with 2 full days play left, it would definitely be a long long battle for India to save this match.
