Karnataka concede first innings lead to Haryana

Karnataka conceded the first innings lead to Haryana, but a combined effort by the bowlers kept the lead within manageable limits, in the Ranji Trophy super league today. Replying to Karnataka's 222, Haryana's first innings was limited to 309, thanks to Sunil Joshi's 3-wicket haul and couple each for skipper Vinay Kumar, Abhimanyu Mithun and Udit Patel. In the second essay, Karnataka ended day 3 at 72/1, scoring at snail's pace considering 32 overs has already been bowled by Haryana. An outright victory looks far fetched right now with only a day's play left, Karnataka batsmen perhaps thought to protect their wickets.
