Keep it grounded: Kohli

Keep it grounded: Kohli

If you are left wondering that stardom at an early age was to be blamed for the lackadaisical performances of many sportspersons, think again. Atleast when you are considering putting Virat Kohli in the stand. In simple terms, Kohli stays focussed on the game and tries to be a better human being to keep the balance in their daily lives and beat the glamour woes.

If you are left wondering that stardom at an early age was to be blamed for the lackadaisical performances of many sportsperson, think again. Atleast when you are considering putting Virat Kohli in the stand. In simple terms, Kohli stays focussed on the game and tries to be a better human being to keep the balance in their daily lives and beat the glamour woes.

As Suresh Raina, another young star of the Indian world cup squad, reasoned out his simple ways of living and humble approach towards the game, Kohli couldn’t agree more. “I think I agree with him because as a youngster, when you break into the team and start doing well, people tend to build you up and distract you,” he said. “It’s important to keep the focus on your game. As long as you spend time on the field, you are going to be fine. The moment you start thinking I have had enough practice, then it’s the time you are in trouble,” Kohli said, according to reports published.

More than anything, the drive to succeed and keep it grounded has to come from within. “It has to come from within. It’s a combination of both within and outside but I think 70 per cent is your own thinking, the way you want to change yourself and 30 per cent could be the help of other players who actually encourage you to make a decision on that,” he said.
