KL Rahul hits fifty in Safi Darashah opener

On the first day of the four-day Safi Darashah cricket tournament at the Alur grounds in Bangalore on Wednesday, Karnataka State Cricket Association XI ended the day on 393/2 in 94 overs against Jharkhand.

KL Rahul put up a valuable 68 to add to a strong opening partnership of 167 runs with Robin Uthappa who went on remain unbeaten at 223 of 276 balls (25*4, 4*6) at stumps. Ganesh Satish contributed 38 runs before he was dismissed whereas Manish Pandey remained unbeaten at the crease with 51 at end of day's play.
KL Rahul has opened for Karnataka several times out of which his notable innings were 73 against Delhi, 157 against Vidarbha and an unbeaten 42 against Maharashtra.
He has been selected in the U-23 India squad for the ACC Emerging Teams Cup in Singapore in August and this knock will boost his confidence for the coming tournament.
