After dominating the test series, Team India’s performance in the rain shortened ODI series against Australia helped them retain the 2nd Position in ICC ODI rankings. Australia tops the chart with 130 points followed by India at 117 points further followed by South Africa and Sri Lanka at 116 & 115 points respectively.

The humble Royal Challenger Kohli, however, isn’t still convinced that his place in India's World Cup squad is granted. The Team RC middle-order batsman had scored his third ODI ton to help India win the second match in Vishakapatnam, which eventually handed the series to the India.

According to reports published, Kohli said, “It is difficult to say that my place is secure in the Indian team. My career is at a very early stage. Everyone dreams of playing in the World Cup and it is my dream as well. I just need to perform consistently.” India is yet to finalise its World Cup squad and Kohli undoubtedly stands up with his tremendous batting and fielding performances.

On the coming series against New Zealand, Kohli said, “We had a good Test and ODI series against Australia and we will try to give our best against New Zealand as well. I don't know whether it would be a complete whitewash or not. New Zealand had played well in Sri Lanka. Bangladesh took them by surprise. They had toured Bangladesh after a very long time and hence found it difficult. We are not taking them lightly. We cannot predict how the series will go but if we play well we will win.”

On India’s chances in the World Cup, Kohli said the presence of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag in the squad, was crucial to India's chances of doing well in the World Cup.
