Kumble not to play in IPL IV
Royal Challengers erstwhile skipper Anil Kumble will not be available for the forthcoming IPL. The former Indian leg-spinner and currently the president of Karnataka State Cricket Association cited business commitments for this decision. In a press release, Kumble said, "I wish to withdraw from the players auction for IPL IV scheduled for the 8th and 9th of January 2011 in Bangalore. I have enjoyed my stint at the IPL so far and thank all concerned for the support extended." Apart from being the KSCA President, Kumble is also the vice chairman of the Karnataka Wildlife Board.
Incidentally, Kumble had been among the 22 players with the highest reserve price of US$400,000 for the IPL auction.
