Royal Challengers vs Mumbai Indians: Semifinal: Mumbai: April 21

No Net Run Rate. No second chances. No falling back and climbing up again. The league phase of IPL is history now.
Now it’s a different league altogether. Let’s term it the League of some Extraordinary Gentlemen, who is striving hard to live upto their potential; who are dying to come out of the ghost of inconsistency which donned them this IPL. Yes, I am talking about us, Team Royal Challengers.

Now it’s a different league altogether. Let’s term it the League of some Extraordinary Gentlemen, who is striving hard to live upto their potential; who are dying to come out of the ghost of inconsistency which donned them this IPL. Yes, I am talking about us, Team Royal Challengers.
Arguably Royal Challengers has the best batting line-up in this IPL. Nobody would also doubt that the bowling department also is “potentially” safe in the hands of Anil Kumble and Dale Steyn. Having said that, our semi-final opponents, Mumbai Indians boasts of the best bowling attack in this IPL. So predictably, it promises to be a battle royal between the willow and the white leather at the DY Patil Stadium in a little over two hours time from now.
With a line up that include names like Kallis, Manish, Pietersen, Dravid, Uthappa, Taylor – its intriguing to find that we crossed the 200-run mark only once in this IPL. Taylor, the star of Team RC’s previous IPL journeys and Champions Trophy, is yet to fire all cylinders in pressure situations. Uthappa has been a revelation. Pietersen showed his class in pieces, Manish has failed to live upto his reputation of a potential powerhouse. Kallis has shown his brilliance, but only frittered away at snail’s pace when it mattered.
The inconsistencies of RC batting are the biggest worry of the team management currently. Overcoming this fear and winning over cluttered minds is the need of the hour may be. Because when it’s the battle amongst equals, the team which handles pressure at crucial time, surely wins.
Mumbai is ahead of RC in every cricketing statistic that you may conjure up. But the fact remains, that RC has won three out of the six times the two met in IPL. Fact also remains that Sachin Tendulkar is the lifeline of MI. If you get him early, there have been traits of a dwindling MI, as proved during RC’s win over them at the Brabourne Stadium a couple of weeks back.
MI is surely a strong team, but RC is not lagging behind much as far as potential is concerned. The only point is how to execute it. The dreaded batting line-up needs to fire on a seemingly slow batting strip at DY Patil. Though RC hasn’t proved themselves as the best touring side this IPL, but when it comes to trying times, RC has proved in the past that they can rise like the Phoenix.
4 INDIAN PLAYERS : DRAVID,KUMBLE,KOHLI & UTHAPPA SHOULD BE RETAINED BY RCB
3FORIEGN PLAYERS : PIETERSEN OR JESSE RYDER,WHITE & STEYN SHOULD BE RETAINED.
SEPTEMBER AUCTION PICKS:
1.YUVRAJ SINGH - HE SHOULD BE BOUGHT PROVIDED THAT HE IS AVAILABLE FOR AUCTION.
2.RAVINDRA JADEJA - HE SHOULD BE BOUGHT AT ANY COST
3.PETER SIDDLE - HE SHOULD BE BOUGHT AS A 2ND FAST BOWLER IN OUR TEAM.
4.LUKE WRIGHT,FLINTOFF,GRANT ELLIOTT & OTHER HANDY ALL-ROUNDERS SHOULD BE BOUGHT.
@Reddemons - You are right, But i would rather go for Abdul Razzaq & Luke Wright(England). Let me tell you that these 2guys can make plenty of difference to our team. We do not need to panic because of the semifinal defeat, Because we still have a good team which requires minor changes(all-rounders).
Let me tell you that we will struggle in the bowling department if steyn is injured,
Mr.Mallya & Jennings, If we prepare ourselves for the auction, I'm sure we can win one of the best players in the world which would make RCB even more stronger.
Here are my picks :
1.MOST IMPORTANT PICKS OF THE AUCTION(if available) - RAVINDRA JADEJA & YUVRAJ SINGH, OH BOY...... IF THEY ARE IN THE AUCTION, YOU BETTER NOT MISS THESE 2 WHO WILL BE A GREAT ASSET TO OUR SIDE.
2. PETER SIDDLE - HE IS SOMEONE WHO CAN BOWL AT 150Kmh CONSISTENTLY & A AGGRESSIVE FAST BOWLER WHO CAN BOWL YORKERS CONSISTENTLY. HE CAN BAT WELL AT THE LOWER ORDER AS WELL. HE IS SOME ONE WHO HAS "never say die" ATTITUDE WHO WILL BRING GREAT VALUE TO THE TEAM.
3. PLEASE SEND YOUR SCOUTS TO OTHER PARTS OF INDIA TO BRING SOME QUALITY SEAMERS & SPINNERS. JAKATI,HARMEET SINGH,TYAGI,GONY,NARMAN OJHA,TRIVEDI... ALL OF THESE GUYS WERE REPRESENTING DIFFERENT STATE WHO ARE PULLED INTO DIFFERENT IPL TEAMS. WE NEED TO FIND OUT SUCH QUALITIES & UTILITIES FROM OTHER STATES AS WELL.
4.KUMBLE & CO, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL NEVER GET A BETTER T20 BATSMAN THAN CAMERON WHITE, PLEASE STICK WITH HIM & PLAY HIM AT NO.3 OR 4 IN THE FUTURE MATCHES FOR HIM TO BE DANGEROUS.
5.PLEASE PICK SOME ALL-ROUNDERS FROM AUSTRALIA, THEY ARE GOOD IN THIS FORMAT & YOU WILL FIND PLENTY OF MATCH WINNERS IN THEIR RANKS.
6. PLEASE SEARCH FOR SOME GENUINE ALL-ROUNDERS WHO ARE POWERFUL HITTERS LIKE LUKE WRIGHT,ABDUL RAZZAQ & SHAHID AFRIDI.
PLEASE DO NOT FORGET OR NEGLECT THESE POINTS, THESE ARE THE MINOR CHANGES OR PICKS WE REQUIRE TO STRENGTHEN OUR TEAM BALANCE IN FUTURE.
If RCB needs to win next season...we need few modification in the team...
first n foremost-plz plz plz plz sack kallis(not even fit to be a "water boy")
retain kohli,manish,uthappa,dravid,KP,steyn
we need a classic all-rounder like afridi or mitchell johnson or razzak and a bowler like malinga who can dominate final overs...
MY ONLY REQUEST TO MR.VIJAY MALLYA
PLZ GO FOR AFRIDI he's a perfect allrounder....
hopefully pak players r allowed nxt season
beep off Kallis. He is the unanimous choice for the man of the series award, because he has played for 7 teams, that's great. Sachin has played only for Mumbai, but Kallis is too good he has played well for all the teams except RCB. He should be sacked and Mallya should not buy him in the auction. Around 80% of the fans here doesn't like to see his face once again in the next IPL with RCB jersey.
For the next match against DC/CSK Cameron White has to play in place of out of form Ross Taylor. I am stressing on this from the last match we played in bangalore, Ross is very strong on leg side, but he is too weak on off side. In place of Kallis Steven Smith has to be brought in , because he is also an allrounder. If Jennings feels he doesn't have the experience then atleast bring back Van der merwe who was a regular in the last edition. I like to see these changes in the next match.
Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey has to open. In yesterday's match we wasted Manish Pandey by making him bat at No.7 .
For the next edition of IPL auction may be conducted in september, I request Vijay Mallya not to miss these players Robin Uthappa, Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey, Cameron White, Eoin Morgan, Steven Smith, Dale Steyn, Van der Merwe, Michael Clarke(may play in next IPL), Kevin Pietersen, Ross Taylor, Mitchell Johnson(if we wishes to play in IPL).
In the auction please concentrate on the INDIAN players. Because they are the pillars of the team.
So Robin Uthappa, Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey should be must in the team. Take Praveen Kumar also. Anil may retire after IPL/Champions league(if we win on saturday) so he will not go for higher bid, Rahul Dravid may also not go for higher bid(already 37). Rahul has the ability to play for another 3 years. So didn't miss him. RCB has to look for promising fast bowler from India. Vinay Kumar has done a decent job this season. But he has to still learn a lot.
While choosing foreign players look in to the future tour programs of ICC. Rahul Dravid did a commendable job in the first auction by picking players who would be available all through the 3 seasons. He picked Dale Steyn, Jacques Kallis( though wasn't successful), Cameron White, Mark Boucher. Rahul Dravid is a genius in this game. He didn't pick any one else other than Cameron White from Australia. Because he knew that they won't be available all through the season. But Cameron White is not in test team so he would be available for most of the matches. Vijay Mallya listening to others blamed Rahul Dravid for selecting this superb team.
This time also they have to select a team in such a way that the most expensive player would be available all through the season.
I wish to see the same team for the next year's IPL too......I still love you RCB....few things went against us today but don't worry..we are still in the top half....I now love you more than ever....RCB rocks...
I wont FORGIVE RCB UNTIL AND UNLESSs katrina comes to my home and serves me with Chocolate milk shake and also she should massage my legs. and deepika padukone should turn on the fan and narrate me a story ( Love aaj kal maybe) . I should get to fly in kingfisher airlines for another 30 years for free. and kallis should be appointed as a servant at my place. I will give him orange uniform and orange cap and orange stick and his food will be oranges mor-afternoon-even and night. And I want Force India to be parked in front of my house and Uttappa should charge my cellphone and wipe my camera display. and kohli should preprae boiled eggs while P kumar prepares egg burji. hey ! katrina should wash my clothes too and deepika will have to iron it.. Wait let me take a break ... No, I dont think I can forgive RCb ..no.. hmm. I wont.. to hell with katrina and deepika.. No i wont forgive..(
I am very sad about this because RCB team has given the best in the field. But they didn't get anything. Hopefully they have to maintain their no.2 spot

We did it last time.
