Mayank Agarwal slams double ton
Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Mayank Agarwal blasted his way to 235 for South Zone against North Zone in the Vizzy Trophy Inter-University Inter-Zonal cricket final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.
Mayank Agarwal hit 13 sixes and 22 fours in the course of his knock, adding 328 runs with his fellow opener K Rohit.
Agarwal raced to his first 100 off 102 balls with two 6s and 13 4s. Seven 6s and eight 4s followed as he took just 73 more balls to gallop to his 200.
North Zone had posted 365 in their first innings. South Zone’s reply began with the 328 run partnership for the first wicket off 375 balls, K Rohit contributing 109 off 249 balls with eight 4s.
South Zone were 417/3 in reply to North Zone’s first innings total of 365. Charanjeet Singh took all the three South Zone wickets which fell but was expensive, ending the day on 3/94.
