Fiery pacer from Karnataka Abhimanyu Mithun, who plays for Club RCB, has been picked in the Indian team for the first Test against South Africa starting from February 6 at Nagpur, while other Royal Challengers R Vinay Kumar and Manish Pandey was included in the Board’s President XI which plays the South Africans before the first Test.

Mithun was the pick of the bowlers in Ranji Trophy this season topping the wicket taker list with 47 wickets at an average of 23.23. Chairman of national selectors, Krishnamachari Srikkanth reportedly said, “His ability to bowl fast was considered while we chose him. He has also done extremely well.”

Mithun has also been picked for the Boards President XI side which plays the South Afficans at Nagpur just before the first Test. Manish Pandey and R Vinay Kumar get a chance to be amongst the contenders as they are included in the BP XI.

It has been a great season for Mithun and let’s hope he continues with his dream run and fiery bowling in the Indian Team as well.
