Mithun replaces injured Zaheer for SL tour

Karnataka and Royal Challenger pacer Abhimanyu Mithun is bound for Sri Lanka for the Test series. Mithun, who has been playing for India A and was recently called to replaced teammate Vinay Kumar in the Zimbabwe tour, will be replacing an injured Zaheer Khan for the Sri Lanka tour. Zaheer, who was instrumental in India's Asia Cup triumph, is reportedly suffering from a shoulder injury and thus finds himself out of the Test series against Sri Lanka.

Mithun, who was the highest wicket taker in Ranji Trophy last season last played for India against the South Africans at home in one Test and an ODI. He then was recalled to join the Indian team in Zimbabwe but didn't play any of the games there. He then returned to the Indian A team returning with impressive figure of 3/49 against the West Indies A team. The Sri Lankan tour consists of a Test Series and a triangular ODI series involving India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
