Mithun's fiver helps Karnataka to victory over Himachal

Abhimanyu Mithun's fiver bolstered Karnataka to register a 67-run win over Himachal Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy super league match here today at Dharamsala. Resuming at 153/5 and requiring another 132 for an improbable victory, Himachal innings folded up by 218 as Mithun and company ran through the rest of the five wickets. Aravind claimed the all important wicket of MS Bisla to open the floodgates, as Mithun then added 2 more wickets to his overnight tally of 3 to end with figures of 5/82. Aravind was the next most successful wicket takes with 3/43 as Karnataka garnered full 6 points from the match.

It was a match full of tensed moments as the match entered day 4 with Himachal poised at 153/5. Karnataka batting was unimpressive with glimpses of brilliance as Stuart Binny and Manish Pandey took control with respective centuries to save Karnataka from disaster in each of the innings. However, when it mattered most, Karnataka bowlers, spearheaded by Mithun came up triumphant. That's the spirit of a Royal Challenger!
