Mumbai registers first win

Keiron Pollard's blistering knock of 72 off only 30 deliveries helped Mumbai Indians register their first win in the Airtel Champions League T20, when they defeated Guyana by 31 runs. Pollard, who was pushed up the order to come down at number three after the fall of Sachin Tendulkar (48 off 39). Pollard's knock helped MI notch up 85 runs in the last 5 overs. The run feast ended at 184, which eventually was too hot to handle for Guyana.

Guyana's reply fizzled out with the departure of Ramnaresh Sarwan (46 off 38 balls). Zaheer Khan was in his elements today as he restricted the opposition with his line and length and his gentle swerves. However, MI needs to win their last match to keep their semifinal hopes alive in the tournament.
