Nuwan Pradeep out of SA series
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sri Lanka pacer Nuwan Pradeep has been ruled out of Sri Lanka’s tour of South Africa after suffering a tear in his right hamstring in a warm up match.
The 25 year old right arm fast bowler bowled just 10 balls in the match between Sri Lanka and a South Africa Invitation XI on Saturday at Benoni before walking off the field.
"Physio Stephen Mount is of the view that Nuwan will be unable to play for another three to four weeks," Sri Lanka’s governing body said in a statement. "The team management has requested for a replacement player." No replacement has been named yet by the selectors.
Pradeep was making his return after suffering a similar injury earlier this year during Sri Lanka’s tour of England when he suffered an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament after stepping on a cricket ball during a warm up match. He had to miss the remainder of the tour.
Sri Lanka’s three Test series against South Africa begins on December 15th at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.
