NZ vs IND - Kohli to start as highest ranked batsman
India batsman Virat Kohli will begin the New Zealand series as the highest ranked batsman on either side.
Kohli, who is currently ranked No.2 in the ICC ODI Rankings for batsmen with 859 points, is only 13 behind World No.1 AB de Villiers. Overall, India have three batsmen in the Top 10, namely skipper MS Dhoni at No.6 and southpaw Shikhar Dhawan in 10th place. The Top 20 consists of New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor and India's new-found opener Rohit Sharma in 18th position.
If Kohli performs well, he stands a chance to regain the No.1 spot that he last held in November 2013.
India start their campaign in the 1st ODI against New Zealand at Napier on January 19.
