Pandey cracks another ton, Karnataka poised for a win

Manish Pandey cracked a fantastic ton, his second in as many matches, as he singlehandedly took Karnataka to a winning position on day 3 Ranji trophy super league match against Himachal Pradesh at Dharamsala today. Pandey cracked 112 as Karnataka managed 230 in their second innings and then pin down Himachal to 153/5 in their second innings to end the day poised and tensed.

Pandey's patient 176-ball knock (13 fours and 3 sixes) was the lone bright spot in Karnataka's second innings, very much similar to their first innings batting status, as the final lead was stretched to 300 plus for Himachal to go for an outright victory. Abhimanyu Mithun then ripped through the top half of the Himachal batting claiming 3/51. Himachal, who were tottering one time at 52/5, were rescued by MS Bisla and P Dogra with an unfinished 101 run partnership for the sixth wicket to end at 153/5, still needing 150 runs to register a victory. A tall claim, indeed!

With both the teams struggling to score past 250, Karnataka holds the advantage in this match with the 303 runs target set for Himachal. With only 5 wickets to go, it will be an intriguing fourth and last day in the match as Karnataka will go all out for an outright victory.
