Perfect 10 by India

An innings and 198 runs - that's the margin by which India won at Nagpur and clinch the Test series against New Zealand.

World's top Test cricketing team on paper and on the cricketing field are two aspects which can be differentiated by the attitude on the ground and the quality of cricket that is dished out. India showed little in the last 2 Tests at Ahmedabad and Hyderabad, but at Nagpur, the attitude and the domination was visible from the first day. That the game finished in three and a half days was a testimony to that aggression. Needless to say, the big role that Rahul Dravid played in this win.

The bowlers started the turnaround for India, after the first two drawn Tests, on the first day at Nagpur. The batsmen, led by Dravid, consolidated the position establishing a huge lead for India. The bowlers then returned with the demolition job in the Kiwis' second innings. Ishant Sharma (3/15) and Harbhajan Singh (3/56) were the chief architects in the Indian bowling department today.

The win will give a big boost to India ahead of the South African tour - a tough series considering the quality of the teams involved. The boost in confidence was necessary as a drawn series against a lowly ranked team like New Zealand surely would have had a negative impact on the Indian cricketers' minds. But the huge victory now can provide the Indian's the self-belief against South Africa.

But before that series, lets gear up for the ODI series against New Zealand. We have a host of Royal Challengers waiting to be engaged in that series like Virat Kohli, Praveen Kumar, Vinay Kumar etc.
