However, Pietersen, returning to action after a surgery, played a sedate knock to build the innings along with Eoin Morgan to seal the victory for England. Pietersen, who is an integral part of Club Royal Challengers, scored an unbeaten run-a-ball 43, laced with only three boundaries in the 112-run partnership with Morgan for the fourth wicket.
Morgan, who was recruited by Club RC in the recently concluded Auction, cracked a 51-ball 67 with seven hits to the fence and two over it during his one hour stay at the wicket. His belligerent knock ensured victory for England with 9 balls to spare.
