Pujara replaces Sehwag in ODI squad
Cheteshwar Pujara was named in India’s ODI squad for the first three ODIs against England the first of which begins on January 11th at Rajkot.
The selectors largely retained the current squad which played in the ODIs against Pakistan. India’s 2-1 loss saw repeated failures from the top order and led to Virender Sehwag’s omission.
Pujara scored 361 runs in 3 matches with 2 hundreds and a fifty in the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy in 2012 to press his claims for an ODI spot. He was the only new name in the squad, replacing Sehwag.
Squad: MS Dhoni (capt), Cheteshwar Pujara, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Ashok Dinda, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shami Ahmed, Amit Mishra.
