Pujara scores 78 as RoI dominate

Cheteshwar Pujara scored 78 on Day 2 of the Irani Trophy game between Rajasthan and Rest of India at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Saturday.

Having bowled out Rajasthan for 253 close to Stumps on Day 1, RoI began the day on 2/0. It was a day of leather chasing for Rajasthan as the openers Ajinkya Rahane and Murali Vijay proceeded to add 173 for the first wicket. A terrible mix up in the second session however saw Rahane being run out for 81 (143b, 4x12).

Murali Vijay and Pujara kept the run fest going as they added 153 for the second wicket. Vijay brought up his hundred off 179 balls as RoI reached 232/1 at Tea. Pujara brought up his 50 off 96 balls. A lapse in concentration close to Stumps however saw him caught behind off a rash drive for 78 (140b, 4x11, 6x1).

RoI reached Stumps at 328/2 with Murali Vijay unbeaten on 151* (257b, 4x18, 6x5) and Subramaniam Badrinath on 1* with a first innings lead of 75 runs.
