Pujara to play for Mumbai ‘A’ against England
Cheteshwar Pujara will play for Mumbai ‘A’ against England in a practice game at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai between November 3rd and 5th.
Pujara was not named among the India ‘A’ squad which will play England in an earlier tour game with an eye on his Col CK Nayudu (U-25) Trophy commitments for Saurashtra, his actual domestic team. He was named as a guest player for Mumbai to give him valuable match practice against top opposition before the first Test against England at Ahmedabad beginning on November 15th.
Also included in the squad was Delhi batsman Shikhar Dhawan who had withdrawn his name from the squad for the India ‘A’ game as the dates clashed with his wedding. His rich form in the Irani, Challenger and Duleep Trophy has meant that the selectors are keen to give him a chance in the international arena.
