Rajasthan Ban"Gayle"ored!
Compare this!
6 matches, 398 runs at an average of 99.50 with a strike rate of 196. The nearest competitor is the current orange cap holder himself, Virender Sehwag who has amassed 424 runs at an average of 38.54 in 11 matches. Needless to say, the first statistics was that of Chris Gayle. He is probably going through the form of his life and have rarely failed in this IPL for Team Royal Challengers. His stability and aggression at the top have transformed the side to a nearly invincible one. His Calypso dances on the whole 22 yards is the yardstick by which the nine other teams of the IPL are measuring themselves. And they are just hoping the Law of Averages would catch Gayle up someday this IPL. But till then, they got to wait. Like Rajasthan Royals, who waited for the same, but got battered instead. 6th win in a row for Royal Challengers and within one win to sail through to the semi-finals.

A 9-wicket thumping of the Royals infront of their home crowd was along expected lines soon after Sreenath Aravind produced a stunner in the 10th over of Rajasthan's innings. By then Rahul Dravid and Shane Watson had mustered 73 runs, but Aravind packed them off within a space of three deliveries - a shocker from which Rajasthan could never recover and eventually managed only 146. Aravind, who has played only 7 matches this season so far is already amongst the top 5 wicket takers with 13 wickets. Leader Lasith Malinga is sitting pretty at double the number, but Aravind is proving his worth within his limitations by just delivering with the right attitude.
The bat and bowl, both are singing in tune for Royal Challengers now. Virat Kohli, who scored the winning runs tonight, led the team with admirable alacrity and utilised his limited bowling resources. Daniel Vettori's knee injury got Kohli the opportunity, but let's all hope the injury is just shortlived.
Tilakratne Dilshan, who played his last game for Team RC this season got to his best in the last few matches. While we all be surely missing him, but wishing him all the success in England where he would be leading the Sri Lankan team.
In the meantime, lets Ban"Gayle"ore this IPL.
