Ranji Trophy: Sheldon Jackson cracks a ton
Saurashtra batsman Sheldon Jackson cracked a swashbuckling 140 as the Saurashtra-Uttar Pradesh game in Group B ended in a draw at Rajkot on Sunday.
After electing to bat first, Saurashtra racked up a total of 632 with the help of Jackson's splendid ton and a double-century from Aarpit Vasavada (205). The duo put up a 111-run 5th wicket partnership, before Jackson was dismissed for 140. Vasavada then continued the momentum, building two 100-plus partnerships with CS Jani (35) and Kamlesh Makwana (101*). Piyush Chawla bagged 3 wickets for UP.
In response, Uttar Pradesh were all-out for 353 in their first innings despite Parvinder Singh's century (110) and a 94 by Mukul Dagar. Jaydev Unadkat recorded figures of 3/44, while Abhishek Bhatt complimented him well with four wickets to his credit. Saurashtra finished their 2nd innings with 51/0 on Day 4, as the match was drawn.
