The coolest RCB updates, served hot.

RC defines "ruthless", whips Guyana

If "ruthless" was a word that could be captured on a cricket field, then Team Royal Challengers lived it as they whipped past Guyana to kickstart their campaign in the Airtel Champions League T20. A 9-wicket victory with the game finishing by the 13th over was the underlining supremacy that Team RC wrote this Sunday. And the old warhorse Jacques Kallis, who until a few weeks back was nursing a shoulder injury, took the field like the light was there in him, with him. Oh, did I forget that the win also gave the Red n Gold a highly positive net run rate too!

And the old warhorse Jacques Kallis, who until a few weeks back was nursing a shoulder injury, took the field like the light was there in him, with him. Oh, did I forget that the win also gave the Red n Gold a highly positive net run rate too!

RC got top billing in this tournament and the reason was evident tonight. The bowling was right in the zone, the fielding was electrical and the batting was timely. The flawless execution in the field had to be pre-planned to perfection for which Coach Ray Jennings got to be given a lot of credit. For the team, which got as little time as the other IPL teams in the fray to re-group showed total commitment and professionalism to outclass the Caribbean T20 champions.

Its a good thing, a time to rejoice and ponder that this team is yet to lose a match in South Africa in this trip. If Team RC plays the way they did tonight, there wouldn't be any loss perhaps. But cricket, being a game of glorious uncertainties, continues and will continue to have its share of surprises. Anil Kumble and his men can only strive and practice hard not to surprise many in a game of cricket. Like Rahul Dravid, the world record holder for most number of catches in Test cricket, did tonight, by dropping a dolly. But life always surprises.

So while RC practices not to repeat the mistakes in the match, they would take the field in the next match with a "ruthless" attitude, again.
