Redbacks too good for MI

Mumbai Indians slumped to their second successive defeat, this time to the South Australian Redbacks in a pulsating last over finish. MI bowlers yielded too many runs in the last two overs and slipped too many to let the Redbacks get away with the match after having a stranglehold on them midway. Riding on some solid performances by the middle order batsmen like Keiron Pollard (36 off 21), Saurabh Tiwary (44 off 25), MI amassed an impressive 180 after skipper Sachin Tendulkar called it right at the toss and decided to bat first. However, Sachin himself couldnt last long.

The MI bowlers, however gave too many loose deliveries and some greasy hands in the field gave away the advantage to the Redbacks. With 24 runs required in the last 2 overs, Zaheer Khan and harbhajan Singh was belted easily around the park. MI is now threatened to be kicked out of CLT20, unless they win the last two engagements by big margins to boost their points tally and also the Net Run Rate.
